From a hippie idyll to a beach destination  of international renown, Kovalam has come a long way in last 4 decades. Today, it is gaining momentum as a popular destination for Ayurvedic tours. The week long ‘Experience Kerala’ has been designed to let you experience the relaxing and rejuvenating environment of the Kovalam beach. Also included in the journey is a visit to the backwaters of Alleppey, wildlife sanctuary in Periyar and colonial heritage of Cochin.

Itinerary - Experience Kerala

Day 1 - Trivandrum - Kovalam

On your arrival at the Trivandrum airport, get an assisted transfer to the pre-booked hotel. Get freshened-up and leave for the tour of the city where you will visit the Tipu's Palace, Nandi or Bull Temple, an ancient South Indian temple, Ulsoor Lake, Cubbon Park, Lal Bagh, and Vidhana Soudha. Later, visit the art galleries and museums.

Return to the hotel after the sightseeing tour. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kovalam.

Day 2 - Kovalam

On the 2nd day, at the Kovalam Beach, enjoy a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage in the beach resort.

Day 3 - Kovalam – Kollam

Early morning, leave by road for Kollam which is also known as the ‘Gateway to Kerala Backwaters’. On reaching Kollam, check into the scenic backwater resort. The city is situated on the bank of the Ashtamudi Lake. This enchanting town is a treasure trove of natural beauty and architectural marvels. The mesmerizing beauty of this town can captivate anyone.

Overnight stay at the resort in Kollam.

Day 4 - Kollam – Alleppey

Post early morning breakfast, leave by road for Alleppey. Boasts of palm-fringed canals and rejuvenating Ayurveda resorts, Alleppey is a perfect place to enjoy the enchanting beauty of serene backwaters. On reaching Alleppey, board the houseboat and glide through the picturesque hamlets to reach Kumarakom. Enjoy the glimpses of green paddy fields, beautiful avifauna, and witness the life of locals.

Stay overnight in the houseboat.

Day 5 - Alleppey - Periyar

Today, leave by road fro Periyar (4 hours drive). Explore the length and breadth of the famous wildlife sanctuary in Periyar. Overnight stay in Periyar.

Day 6 - Periyar

The 6th day starts with a boat cruise in the Periyar Lake. In the afternoon, set off to explore the spice plantations. Stay overnight in Periyar.

Day 7 - Periyar - Cochin

Today, leave by road fro Periyar (4 hours drive). Explore the length and breadth of the famous wildlife sanctuary in Periyar. Overnight stay in Periyar.

Day 8 - Departure

In the morning, embark on a sightseeing tour of Cochin which include Cochin Fort, Chinese Fishing Nets, Jewish Synagogue and Mattancherry Palace. Post lunch, leave by road for airport and board the flight back home.
